Our goals are to promote the protection of the residential quality of life in Boca Raton and encourage development which is consistent with the public health & safety of residents, as well as, the preservation of open & green space within the city. Considering the signficant decline in the real estate economy over the past few years and the large excess supply of available housing, our residents do not see a need for increased development until there is evidence that the excess supply has begun to be absorbed. Further development of housing units will be expected to reduce the prices of existing properties as basic supply & demand economic forces have a negative impact on current residential property owners. Accordingly, the city's 2010 proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendments are inconsistent with the economic interests of current residents and should not be changed to allow land use changes that would promote more residential development in our city.
